Research Interests
In my studies, to improve in vitro embryo production rates after in vitro culture or cryopreservation of oocytes, we elucidate the mechanisms of differentiation, development and fertilization, and establish the suitable culture systems in mammalian germ cells. And, we develop the new containers and cryoprotectants for cryopreservation of oocytes and embryos, because ultra-rapid cooling and chemicals those provide protection against cryo-injuries are demanded for the higher viabilities after cryopreservation of oocytes. Moreover, we analyze the difference between fresh and cryopreserved oocytes.
Assisted reproductive techniques (ARTs) such as in vitro culture of oocytes and cryopreservation of embryos have advanced and made a contribution to the fertility treatment and animal production in the many mammalians, such as livestock. Moreover, the techniques are able to employ in some endangered mammalian species. However, the success rates are still low and ARTs retain many problems. Further studies and the improvements of ARTs are required for couples who suffer from infertility and effective animal breeding program.
